Belonging

As I write this my little boy is fast asleep on his beanbag chair on the floor. The sound of his even breathing smooths out the wrinkles of stress. Does life get better than this? I am blessed to be a foster parent. I have children entrusted to my care. I grow to love them more each day. We hace been privileged to adopt three of our former foster children. Two have been with us since birth so the adoption was not a big event. However our oldest was 11 when we adopted her. Now she had a forever home! That doesn't mean life just becomes one big party for us. The problems are still the same but now we belong to each other, even when we don't want to!There is something to be said for belonging. We all seem to need that in our lives. Even those with attachment issues long to belong. They just don't know it!

Judy David is an experienced foster parent. She and her husband Mike have adopted three of their former foster children. They have experienced first hand the effects of abuse in a child’s life. Judy developed her site Integrity's Views as a platform to educate and mobilize others regarding social issues. For more information on child abuse and other social issues visit us at http://www.integrity.cashhosters.com/.
